中華民國貝類學會成立於中華民國59年10月4日，以研究軟體動物為宗旨。每個月發行中文版蠔友通訊，每年發行中文版的「貝友」，每年發行中文和英文合版的「貝類學報」。本會採會員制，經常辦理貝類專題演講，研習活動，參觀活動，海邊活動。

The Malacological Society of Taiwan was founded on 4th October 1970 to study molluscan shells. Each year we produce two publications: a scientific journal, the Bulletin of Malacology in Chinese and English, and a magazine, the Peiyo, in Chinese with some English, as well as a souvenir for members. We also issue a newsletter every month. Our activities include lectures, collecting trips and research. We are pleased to welcome anyone with an interest in shells to join our Society.
